BLUEGOLDONLINE.COM OCT. 22, 2022 9 UNDER THE DOME .697 Winning percentage (71-30-3) for Notre Dame in stadiums that served as home to an NFL team the year the Irish com- peted at that venue. The Irish are now 22-15 (.595) in current NFL stadiums. Allegiant Stadium marked the 15th active NFL venue the Irish have competed in, and they will visit M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore (vs. Navy on Nov. 12), Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (vs. Georgia Tech in 2024) and Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., (vs. Wisconsin in 2026) in the future. 2 Fighting Irish players — sophomore offensive tackle Blake Fisher and senior linebacker Marist Liufau — were among the 61 student-athletes listed on the initial watch list for the 2022 Comeback Player of the Year award. Fisher, who missed all but two games of his fresh- man season due to a knee injury, started each of Notre Dame's first five games at right tackle. He has been a key contributor to an offensive line that has paved the way for a rushing attack that has gained traction as the season has pro- gressed. In wins over North Carolina Sept. 24 and BYU Oct. 8, the Irish averaged 260.5 yards rushing per game. Liufau, who missed the entire 2021 season due to an ankle injury suffered during preseason prac- tice, is the starter at Will linebacker. Through five games, he led the Irish linebackers in snaps played (247) and was seventh on the team in tackles (20). 5th Was where NCAA.com had Notre Dame on its list of the 11 most under- rated Division I men's college bas- ketball teams that could make their mark in the upcoming season. "The Irish have reloaded after last season's NCAA Tournament run led by potential one-and-done JJ Starling," NCAA.com's Andy Katz noted. 9 Former Fighting Irish standouts began the season on NHL opening- day rosters Oct. 11: winger Anders Bjork (Buffalo Sabres), center Jake Evans (Montreal Canadiens), center Vinnie Hinostroza (Buffalo Sabres), winger Anders Lee (New York Islanders), center Kyle Palmieri (New York Islanders), defenseman Andrew Peeke (Columbus Blue Jackets), goalie Cal Petersen (Los Angeles Kings), winger Bryan Rust (Pittsburgh Penguins) and center Riley Sheahan (Buffalo Sabres). 10 Attendance records have been set by Notre Dame football at active neutral site venues, with the latest being the sellout crowd of 62,742 for the game vs. BYU at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. He was on pace to become the Fighting Irish's all-time leader in that category before suffer- ing a season-ending knee injury in practice leading up to the Stanford game. Instead, he will finish second, six behind de- fensive tackle Kurt Hinish (2017-21) and one ahead of kicker Jonathan Doerer (2017-21). 83.3 Percent completion per- centage for Notre Dame junior QB DREW PYNE in the final three quarters of his first three career starts. After starting the Cal, North Carolina and BYU games a combined 13 of 25 (41.7 percent) in the first quarter, Pyne connected on 50 of 60 throws over the final three quarters of the trio of victories. Pyne's 72.5 completion (66 of 91) through the Irish's first five contests ranked seventh in the country heading into Week 7 of the college football season. 823 Yards from scrimmage (rushing and re- ceiving) for Irish running backs over the three-game stretch against Cal, North Carolina and BYU. Per Notre Dame media relations, that is the most over a three-game stretch since 2003, when Notre Dame saw its running backs — keyed by Julius Jones — post 833 yards over a three-game stretch that included a victory over Stanford. ✦ BY THE NUMBERS PHOTO BY CHAD WEAVER
