34 MAY 2025 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED BY MIKE SINGER Notre Dame added its second wide receiver verbal of the 2026 class April 14 with Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Mili- tary School wide receiver Bubba Frazier picking the Fighting Irish. The Peach State speedster announced his commitment to Notre Dame just 10 days after his first unofficial visit to South Bend. He had a great time on Notre Dame's campus with his dad, and the Irish moved to the pole position in his recruitment. However, Frazier told the Notre Dame staff that he wanted to bring his mom up to see the school before making a commitment. Frazier saw Notre Dame on a Friday, then traveled to Wisconsin the next day, April 5. His original plan wasn't to com- mit this soon, but he knew where he wanted to call home. "After I took my spring visits, I re- flected on everything, and Notre Dame came out on top," Frazier told Blue & Gold Illustrated before making his com- mitment public. "I got to the hotel after my Wisconsin visit, and I couldn't get Notre Dame off my mind. I talked to my family, and they were all good with it. And then I made the call." He got on the phone with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and wide receivers coach Mike Brown the night of Sunday, April 6 to let them know his big news. They were pleasantly surprised to hear about Frazier's commitment, considering he had just told them that he wanted to bring his mom up before a decision. "They were excited," Frazier recalled. "They were yelling on the phone and re- ally fired up about it. They're ready for me to get up there." Notre Dame offered Frazier on Feb. 21, and Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Central Florida and Wisconsin were among the other schools that dished out scholarships to him. But it all clicked for him on the Notre Dame visit. He didn't need a return trip. "I got a great vibe with the whole coaching staff," he said. "When I went into the team meeting room, all the coaches were saying my name and made me feel a part of the program. The spiri- tuality and culture there — it just felt like home." Frazier plans to return to Notre Dame in June for his official visit, and it's the only one he'll take. The 5-10, 165-pounder has no plans to entertain any other colleges and will enroll at Notre Dame in January 2026. "I talked that over with Pops, and we said that once I give my word, my word is locked in," Frazier stated. "So, we're not going to be doing any of that." Frazier is listed as a three-star pros- pect and the No. 84 wide receiver in America per On3. He had a standout performance at the Under Armour Next camp series stop in Atlanta Feb. 9, which led to him add- ing new offers from Notre Dame, Wake Forest and North Carolina. Frazier ran a blazing-fast 4.43 laser-timed 40-yard dash at the event. For context, only 16 wide receivers ran better 40 times at the 2025 NFL Combine. "I'm a humble kid who is going to do whatever he can for his team and team- mates," Frazier said. "I'm going to come in and put my head down and work." Frazier was named the Georgia Re- gion 1-AAAA Athlete of the Year as a junior in 2024. Projected as a slot re- ceiver in college, he caught 46 passes for 753 yards (16.4 yards per catch) and 5 touchdowns, while also rushing for 604 yards and 8 touchdowns in 12 games. He recorded personal-best times of 10.69 in the 100 meters and 21.76 in the 200 meters as a sophomore last spring. Frazier had a strong sophomore sea- son on the gridiron, hauling in 53 passes for 753 yards with 4 touchdowns, plus 316 yards and 3 scores on the ground. Boca Raton (Fla.) Saint Andrew's School's Dylan Faison, a three-star prospect, is the other wide receiver pledge for the Irish in the 2026 class. ✦ COMMITMENT PROFILE BUBBA FRAZIER FILM ANALYSIS "I've been dying for fast guys at Notre Dame who can make plays in space, and you have that with Bubba Frazier. His highlight film is so fun to watch. He's got the speed, and he looks to have a good build as a receiver. For me, he'd also be the kick returner on Day 1. The speed is just unbelievable. "You think back to last year when Notre Dame would run some wide receiver sweeps, and it would be Jayden Thomas running them. And now that's going to be Bubba Frazier, and he can make a move. Bubble screens — he can take those to the house. He's coming out of Georgia, and you're getting one heck of a player from there. He could play for any of those SEC schools." — Blue & Gold Illustrated football analyst Tim Hyde Peach State Speedster Picks The Fighting Irish Frazier — who picked the Irish over Auburn, Georgia and Wisconsin, among others — ran a blazing-fast 4.43 laser-timed 40-yard dash at the Under Armour Next camp series stop in Atlanta Feb. 9.
