Burris' mom was living in Clifton Forge, Va., and Juston was born in a hospital in nearby Roanoke. The family moved to Raleigh around the time Juston was closing in on turning 3 years old because his parent was about to start classes at NC State. "She has been my rock and it was tough early on," Burris said. "She has worked hard and paved the way for my little brother and I to do the things we are doing now. I definitely look up to her." Having his mom, who is a regional property manager around Raleigh, in the stands on game day or send him inspirational messages on social media means everything for Burris. "I definitely see that she is proud of me and I love that," Burris said. "She knows I play this game for her and I'd do everything for her. Her and my step-dad have been around a while, and he's an NC State fan, too." Burris enjoys watching his 7-year-old little brother Kameron start to play sports, which is another highlight of staying close to home. "I tell people that I'm grooming another Wolfpacker," said Burris, who had his first name spelled Juston because his mother wanted him to be unique. Burris is poised to be a three-year starter at NC State. He moved into the starting lineup full-time this season, and has 24 tackles and five passes broken up while seeing action in five of the first six games. The former nickel back is starting to become one of the elder statesmen of the secondary, along with senior defensive back Dontae Johnson. "There is definitely nowhere else I want to play and I have loved NC State since I was in elementary school.
