■ football recruiting open. He visited NCSU unofficially for the Oct. 12 game against Syracuse. Richardson (6-6, 330 pounds) is rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect, the No. 41 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 16 player from North Carolina. He was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl. Richardson is expected to graduate early from Cummings and enroll at the school of his choice for the spring semester. ■ Defensive Line NC State has been the leader since last spring for five-star defensive end Kentavius Street of Greenville (N.C.) Rose High. The 6-3, 265-pounder has scheduled official visits to Ole Miss (Oct. 25), Florida State (Nov. 1) and Miami (Jan. 17). LSU and NCSU will also get trips. Street is listed by Rivals.com as the No. 16 player in the country, the No. 2 strongside defensive end nationally and the No. 2 prospect in the state. Through eight games this season, Street had posted 48 tackles, including 12 for loss and 2.5 sacks. He has been selected to play in the Shrine Bowl. Far less is known about Lorenzo Featherston, a 6-7, 215-pounder from Greensboro (N.C.) Page High. Featherston has officially visited Florida and was an unofficial guest of NC State at the Pack's home game against Syracuse Oct. 12. He is also believed to be seriously considering Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee and UNC, but Featherston has not divulged much information about his recruitment thus far. Featherston is rated by Rivals.com as a four-star talent, the No. 13 weakside defensive end in the country and the No. 13 player in North Carolina. Featherston will play in the Shrine Bowl and the Under Armour All-American Game Jan. 4 in St. Petersburg, Fla. A wild card at defensive end is Harold Landry, a 6-2, 225-pounder from Fayetteville (N.C.) Pine Forest High. For about two hours on the evening of Oct. 9, Landry had decommitted from Boston College before having a change of heart and at least temporarily sticking with his pledge. Landry committed to BC in April, but his stock has risen since then and it's no guarantee the commitment will hold firm until National Signing Day. If Landry does open up, NC State, Miami and Ohio State are expected to become the biggest players for him. Rivals.com ranks Landry as a three-star player, the No. 20 strongside defensive end in the country and the No. 17 recruit from the state. Through eight games this season, Landry had recorded 60 tackles, including 10 sacks and seven more for loss. Vogedes InsuranceAgency, Inc. 403 S.
