Nov. 26 (he had previously commit- ted to take a year off and join the 2015 Michigan class), Wangler was the final new pledge for Michigan. Wangler 's commitment was the earliest Michigan has even picked up its final member of a class, with only two previous seasons — the 2013 recruiting class and 2004 group — not picking up a pledge in the month of February, within a week of National Signing Day. The pre- vious earliest that Michigan picked up its final pledge was last season, when five-star running back Derrick Green made his commitment Jan. 26, 11 days before National Signing Day. The U-M coaches didn't shut up shop after Wangler 's commitment, pursuing a number of top national prospects. The country's top overall player, Woodbridge (Va.) High five- star defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, strongly considered Michigan before committing to Alabama Nov. 14. The Wolverines also looked at a number of running backs, including Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Austin three- star Vic Enwere. He took an official visit to Michigan Dec. 13, but opted to remain committed to the Golden Bears of California. In the end, the U-M coaches de- cided that the 16-man class (the smallest in the Rivals.com era) was enough to supplement the talent al- ready in the program, and Wangler's commitment held up as the final in the group. FORMER WOLVERINES DOT ESPN ULTIMATE 300 ESPN's recruiting team unveiled its Ultimate 300 — encompassing the best college recruits from the 2006-13 classes — and that group included seven eventual Wolverines.
