PREP PROFILES Michigan's 2015 class got off to a very strong start with two players who would eventually receive five- star rankings — Kentucky running back Damien Har- ris and Florida w i d e r e c e i v e r G e o rg e C a m p - bell — joining the fold before their j u n i o r s e a s o n s even began. Both have since de- committed from Michigan, but are still considering the Maize and Blue. U-M's chance of securing Har- ris, a five-star who is the nation's top tailback and No. 4 overall prospect, seems particularly good. Although Harris' initial connection to the Wolverines was through former offensive coordinator Al Borges (who coached with Madison Southern head coach Jon Clark at Auburn), Michigan replaced him with a strong choice. Former Alabama offensive coordina- tor Doug Nussmeier is expected to bring a powerful offense to Michigan. "Coach Nussmeier came in, and I think he's a great coach," Harris said. "He's coached some great players and won national championships with Alabama. All he told me was just to give him a chance, and I'm starting to build that relationship with him like I had with Coach Borges. Hopefully I can get that same type of relationship, and the same feeling like I had with Coach Borges." Michigan certainly won't give up the chase for Harris. The five-star r e m a i n s a t o p i t s b o a rd , a n d it is easy to see why. The 5-11, 2 1 0 - p o u n d e r rushed for 2,621 y a r d s a n d 4 2 touchdowns on just 220 carries as a junior (11.9 yards per rush). His combination o f p o w e r a n d speed are unmatched in the 2015 class. "He's explosive and powerful, and can really plant his foot and go when it comes to cutting in the open field," Rivals.com Southeast recruiting an- alyst Woody Wommack said. "Not only does he have the strength to run players over, but he also has the speed to run by them. The 2015 class is loaded with running backs, and right now Harris is standing above the rest because of his unique combination of size, speed and skills." Harris trimmed his listed of sev- eral dozen scholarship offers to 10 contenders, with U-M joined by Ala- bama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Tennessee. While his favorites within that list are evolving, U-M remains in the mix. — Tim Sullivan Former U-M Commit Still Considering Wolverines ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Madison Southern H.S. Berea, Ky.
