M ichigan once again pulled off a coup, announcing longtime color analyst Jim Brandstatter will take over as the Wolverines' new play-by-play man, moving into the seat Frank Beckmann departed fol- lowing the 2013 season, while re- cently retired CBS television analyst Dan Dierdorf will take over the color commentator role. "Jim and Dan are hall-of-fame broadcasters and great Michigan men," head coach Brady Hoke said. "They will provide a unique perspec- tive to the broadcasting booth that I'm sure our fans will enjoy on foot- ball Saturdays, and you can guar- antee they will have a keen analysis of Michigan football on each broad- cast." Dierdorf, a former Michigan All- American offensive lineman in 1970, has done extensive work for CBS Sports, serving as a correspondent at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Cal- gary, and also provided play-by-play on college games in the early 1990s. He's best known as a broadcaster, though, for teaming with Al Michaels and Frank Gifford in ABC's Monday Night Football booth from 1987-98.
