MICHIGAN IN THE PROS a "steal at No. 24 last year." "He's a keeper," one scout said. "Other teams may try to get him. … He'll be a good fit in [the triangle offense]." Hardaway shot 42.8 percent from the floor and 36.3 percent on three- pointers this year. "They want him to put points on the board, and that tells you he's a good shooter," the scout told The Post. "If he wasn't, they'd say: 'Just go cause disruption on the defensive end,' so he must be a player they count on to score. "He's an obvious NBA talent. It looks like he could be a good de- fender, seems like a good teammate. He can shoot but really needs to work on his consistency. He can be lights out one night, out of sync the next." While Hardaway's one-dimen- sional now, the scout noted, that should change when he becomes more comfortable with his role. The NHL MAX PACIORETTY'S PLAY IGNITES MONTREAL Former Michigan standout Max Pacioretty only had one assist in Montreal's first three playoff games, but no matter — the 39-goal scorer and his teammates opened up a 3-0 lead on Tampa Bay anyway, and Pa- cioretty was a big reason the team came into the postseason on a roll. Pacioretty notched two goals and an assist to help the Canadiens ex- tend their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over the Florida Panthers March 29 — his first goals ever against the Panthers — and he notched a hat trick in a 7-4 victory over Ottawa April 5 to keep the Habs humming.
