MICHIGAN FOOTBALL Nickname: "Some people on the team call me 'Big Ben,' but that's about it." Favorite Class He's Taken At U-M: "I am taking a class right now called politi- cal economy. It's really interesting. It's under the sociology major. We're looking at capitalism, governments, economy and how things work. Big businesses, their strategies and how all of that stuff works. It has been really great." Favorite Restaurant in Ann Arbor: "I like Mr. Spot's a lot, but Zingerman's is really good, too." Best Meal He Can Cook By Himself: "I can make a baked spaghetti with cheese, pepperoni and a variety of vegetables — peppers, chopped onion and mushrooms. It's really good." Other Sports He Enjoys Playing: "This is going to be my fifth year of football ever. I grew up playing hockey. I played 12 years of ice hockey as a kid, so that was the sport I was really into for a long time. I also played lacrosse, basketball and soccer." What He Likes To Do When Hanging Out With Teammates: "Other than just sitting on the couch, sometimes we'll go see a movie. A couple weeks ago, it was my birthday, so a bunch of us went out and got dinner together. Right now, we're in spring ball, so we don't get out too much." Favorite TV Show: "Right now, it has to be 'The Walking Dead.' I love that show." Favorite Professional Athlete: "[Michigan head coach Brady] Hoke will prob- ably be mad at me, but I'm going to pick a hockey player. Steve Yzerman. Since I was a kid, I have always looked up to him. I met him when I was little, and he was always a hero of mine when I played hockey. He is a really good guy. He's calm, but he's a really good leader. He is always someone I have looked up to, in terms of the type of player I want to be. Someone who is not really loud, but a strong leader when he needs to be." Role Model: "My dad, Greg. When I was in high school, my dad and I kind of butted heads, like a lot of sons and dads do, but since I got to college I have grown up and said: 'I see what you did for me, and I appreciate everything.'" What He Wants To Do After Football: "Everyone would love to keep going in football. My plan is to go as far as I can. My ultimate goal, though, is to be in the FBI. I have always wanted to travel the world and protect people. That is what I have always wanted to do. I have talked about it with Hoke [whose career goal when he was a student-athlete at Ball State was to be in the Secret Service.] I told him that when he was recruiting me, and he was really geeked about it." Major: "Sociology." His Overall U-M Experience: "Fast. I can't believe I am going into my third season already. It's crazy how fast it goes." — Andy Reid
