• A 6-5 record over archri- val Michigan State, includ- ing 6-3 after Morgan's freshman season. • Two Big Ten Player of the Year winners consecu- tively, in Trey Burke and Nik Stauskas. • Five early entry NBA performers (Darius Morris, Tim Hardaway Jr., Burke, Stauskas and Glenn Rob- inson III). Morgan wasn't going to be out the door early, and neither were some of Beilein's other build- ing blocks, such as Zack Novak and Stu Douglass. That doesn't make them any less valuable, the head coach insisted. Of Morgan, Beilein said: "He's one of those guys where, the jersey won't be in the rafters, but the coaches will look back and say, those are the intangibles you need to win. Jordan Morgan is a perfect example of a great Michigan player who goes to college for all the right reasons." Morgan will leave Michigan with a master's degree in engineering. He's al- ready witnessed the Wolverines engineer a dramatic leap forward, and he'll always cherish being a part of it. "Definitely," he said. "I just hope we keep improving. You hope to leave it better than you found it, and I just hope my teammates take as much pride in keeping Michigan a championship program as I have, and as all my teammates over the past few years have. Just strive to be champions in every way that they can." — John Borton Morgan, who was a fifth-year senior this past season, has helped Michigan develop into a program with two consecutive Elite Eight appearances and four straight NCAA tourney bids.
