UNDER THE DOME • Junior left tackle Ronnie Stanley had minor knee surgery prior to summer conditioning to clean up some "loose impediments" in the joint, but he was expected to be full go after sitting out the initial summer workout. "Nothing major, no structural damage," head coach Brian Kelly said. "It was more a cleaning up of the joint." • Senior center Nick Martin, who missed spring ball due to MCL surgery, was also at full health to start the summer session workouts in June. • Senior wide receiver DaVaris Daniels was back with the program after his dismissal from the spring semester because of not meeting academic requirements. • Rashad Kinlaw, a 2013 freshman cornerback for the Irish who was dismissed from the team this spring by Kelly for reasons not specified, will be attending ASA College in Brooklyn this fall and play- ing for their football team, according to the school's head coach on Twitter. ASA, which stands for Advanced Software Analysis, has sent 17 players to Division I programs in the last two seasons. • Two former Notre Dame players, 2009-13 defensive lineman Tyler Stockton and 2007-10 walk-on Nick Lezynski, were hired as graduate assistants at UConn by head coach Bob Diaco, the 2010-13 Fight- ing Irish defensive coordinator. • Per new NCAA rules, college football staffs this summer were allowed to spend up to eight hours with their players in the film room or on the practice field as long as no footballs were involved in their drills.
