BY LOU SOMOGYI T he University of Notre Dame confirmed on June 25 that a two-game series with the Univer- sity of Georgia will take place later this decade. The first regular-sea- son meeting ever be- tween the two teams will be held at Notre Dame on Sept. 9, 2017, and the return match will be "between the hedges" in Athens, Ga., on Sept. 21, 2019. It will be Notre Dame's f i r s t r e g u l a r - s e a s o n meeting with a South- eastern Conference foe since a 41-21 victory ver- sus Tennessee on Nov. 5, 2005, and the first series with an SEC team since playing the Volunteers in 2004-05.
