The Virginia Cavaliers made
a remarkable run this year.
They finished the season 53-
16 and made their third ap-
pearance in the College World
Series, advancing further than
any other team in program his-
tory. Though the 'Hoos fell
just short of a national title,
their impact on the community
in Omaha and back home in
Charlottesville was felt by all
fans.
"I can't wait to go back,"
said Rich Booth, Virginia base-
ball supporter and VAF donor.
"I love baseball and really enjoyed watching
this team develop all spring. I think the CWS in
Omaha is the greatest of all national champion-
ships and it was a blast being
there to support UVa."
The enthusiasm of Vir-
ginia fans was felt throughout
Omaha. From their first trip
back in 2009 when Barry O's
Tavern (where head coach
Brian O'Connor worked while
in college) bolstered what was
likely the only Virginia flag in
the city, to 2014 when Virginia
memorabilia was proudly dis-
played throughout Omaha; the
depth of Wahoo Nation in Ne-
braska knows no bounds.
