FOOTBALL RECRUITING est in Michigan. He plans to trans- late that into an official visit for the Oct. 11 Penn State night game (where fellow UNC pledge William Sweet is also expected). Although Davis doesn't have the tall build of other corners Michigan is pursuing, he is a good athlete who can play man coverage. MARCUS LEWIS Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga 6-0, 194 pounds No. 7 cornerback and No. 90 overall player nationally Lewis visited Michigan in July for the Barbecue at The Big House, and although he was committed to Florida at the time, he decommitted from the Gators shortly thereafter. Michigan is now the favorite, with Miami (Fla.) and Oregon still in the mix. He'll visit Ann Arbor for the Penn State night game Oct. 11. IMAN MARSHALL Long Beach (Calif.) Poly 6-1, 194 pounds No. 1 cornerback and No. 3 overall player nationally Marshall is a five-star prospect and one of the best players in the nation. "Biggie" has the length, strength and overall athleticism to be a star de- fensive back at the next level. Michi- gan will get an official visit — along with Florida State, LSU, Notre Dame, and either Oklahoma or Texas — and the local schools, UCLA and USC, are still in the mix, too. He's a tough grab, as top-five recruits nation- ally tend to be, but the visit (not yet scheduled) gives the Maize and Blue a chance. MOOK REYNOLDS Greensboro (N.C.) Northern Guilford 6-0, 170 pounds • Virginia Tech commit No. 29 cornerback and No. 247 overall player nationally Reynolds is committed to Vir- ginia Tech, but official visits to Michigan and Ole Miss are likely. While he's expected to end up a Hokie, Reynolds appears to be leav- ing the door open for other schools. Though he's slight in build, he has the length and frame to add mass and be a strong press-corner at the next level. SPECIAL TEAMS Andrew David comes from a power program in Massillon (Ohio) Washington, and although he is un- ranked by Rivals.com, Chris Sailer Kicking has named him the No. 7 placekicker in the country. The 5-8, 170-pounder is also capable of punt- ing at the next level. With David in the fold, and long snapper Scott Sypniewski taking care of that specialty role in the 2013 class, special teams are spoken for on the Michigan roster. If there's additional need, filling it through the walk-on program, rather than with scholar- ship players, is most likely. ❑ On The Web For regular reports on Michigan football re- cruiting plus videos of U-M commitments and targets visit TheWolverine.com.
