MICHIGAN IN THE PROS
BY CHRIS BALAS
F
ormer Michigan linebacker Larry
Foote was a rock in his 11 years
with the Pittsburgh Steelers, helping
the team win the Super Bowl twice
and providing veteran leadership in
his later years with the club.
Pittsburgh's loss has been Arizo-
na's gain since the Steelers released
Foote earlier this year. The 13th-year
pro has come back from a ruptured
bicep muscle suffered in the first
game last year to be one of the Cardi-
nals' pleasant surprises.
Foote recorded eight tackles in his
first game with the team, an 18 17
win over San Diego Sept. 8. He got
his hands on a Philip Rivers fourth-
and-two pass late in the fourth quar-
ter to preserve the win.
"I was reading the quarterback's
eyes and just threw my hand up,"
Foote told the Arizona Cardinals Ra-
dio Network after the game.
