"We're trying to not only let Devin do what Devin does, but also develop that
corps around him."
Norfleet insisted he's not worried about individual numbers. He did point out
he takes great pride in what the Wolverines do, collectively, as a pass-catching
crew.
"The receivers, we become one," Norfleet said. "Everybody expects everything
from one another. We do things as a group, so when one of us makes a play, we
all make a play. That's how Coach Heck taught us and that's how we're going to
remain throughout the year."
A number of people have commented on the energy Norfleet brings to the
mix. He's been moved around to different positions, but always injects enthu-
siasm.
"My role on the team, I'm a guy that can bring spark, make everybody happy,"
he said. "I'm just being the teammate to get everybody going; to bring fire.
That's what I do. If I can continue doing that, get everybody happy, let them
know the game can go our way anytime, that's what I'll do."
They'll all need to pitch in, before it's over. Without a senior receiver among
them, they're looking to play not only beyond opposing defensive backfields,
but beyond their collective experience.
