MICHIGAN RECRUITING
of this year's class have expressed interest — but none have signed the schol-
arship paperwork. U-M will likely need to shore up the season before locking
down others for January enrollment.
• Michigan has Saginaw (Mich.) Heritage wide receiver Brian Cole committed
in the 2015 class, but the Wolverines are on the hunt for more. While four-star
options, at least realistic ones, are few and far between, a sleeper could emerge
at a school familiar to the Maize and Blue.
Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne is home to 2015 safety commit Tyree Kinnel, and
also sent brothers Terry and Terrance Talbott to Ann Arbor in the 2009 recruit-
ing class. Senior wide receiver Ahmad Wagner is little known, but not because
of a lack of potential. The 6-6, 215-pounder didn't play varsity football until his
senior year, and is currently committed to play basketball at the University of
Iowa.
His first year playing football on the big stage has shown that he has tantaliz-
ing potential. His excellent speed and size make him a deep threat in the vein
of U-M junior Devin Funchess, and Kentucky has already offered him on the
gridiron. Michigan is also evaluating, and though Wagner currently intends
to stick with the Hawkeyes' hoops program, a big-time football offer from a
program like Michigan could change his mind.
