FOOTBALL RECRUITING Michigan partisans who would prefer to remain Wolverines regardless of the coaching staff, but with so much time to mull things over, they could be swayed by other programs. "People say to pick a school for the school, not for a coach, and that's what I set myself out to do," Swen‑ son said. "Michigan's not going to get a bad coach, even if Coach Hoke leaves. I'm not worried about Michi‑ gan dying off." THE LOSSES Michigan's 2015 class has already seen plenty of attrition, even though National Signing Day is months away. Three of those decommit‑ ments, though, had nothing to do with the way U‑M's 2014 season is going — they rescinded their pledges prior to the start of the season. Two of them, Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell and Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern run‑ ning back Damien Harris, decided to open things up after the 2013 season. Campbell — 6‑3 and 183 pounds, the No. 10 wide receiver and No. 78 over‑ all player nationally, and a former teammate of U‑M starting left tackle Mason Cole — has switched his com‑ mitment to Florida State. Harris, a 5‑11, 210‑pounder whose blend of size and speed earned him rankings as the top tailback and No. 10 overall player nationally, has narrowed his list to Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, and presumed favorites Ohio State and Kentucky. Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward cor‑ nerback Shaun Crawford flipped his commitment from Michigan to Notre Dame over the summer. Craw‑ ford, a 5‑9, 165‑pounder, is ranked as the No. 13 cornerback and No. 114 overall player nationally. He took an unofficial visit to South Bend, and the campus experience — along with the Catholic connection to his high school — played a large role in mak‑ ing the switch. The only decommitment whose reasoning could relate to the season is Lincolnton (N.C.) High defensive end Darian Roseboro. Rivals.com's No. 6 defensive tackle and No. 42 overall prospect nationally men‑ tioned uneasiness with the coach‑ ing stability, particularly Hoke's job security, and ultimately switched his commitment to his initial runner‑ up, the local school North Carolina State. ❏ Lincolnton (N.C.) High standout Darian Roseboro, who pledged to the Wolverines Aug. 29, became uneasy with how U‑M's 2014 season was unfolding, decommit‑ ted Sept. 29 and then committed to North Carolina State Oct. 11.
