admitted. His defensive coordina-
tor insists what happened on that
highlight-reel snap become second
nature.
"Jourdan Lewis is a very talented
and very young corner," Mattison
cautioned. "And I've seen him ma-
ture a great deal. I see him in practice
going harder than he did initially. I
see him taking steps every practice
and becoming a Michigan defensive
player. I think he's seeing now the
one thing you have to do is do it play
in and play out, every single play.
"Two weeks ago when he made
that great play on the tackle … he
needs to make sure he's doing that
each time. I'm not saying he's not.
I'm just saying that's the measur-
ing stick. The sky's the limit. We've
got a lot of young guys like him on
defense. They have to come every
week, and if they don't, you won't
be up to the challenge we need to be
this year."
The Great Ute Chase wasn't Lewis'
Lewis snared two of Michigan's three interceptions in the first seven games this season,
and he also posted 27 tackles, which was tied for third on the Wolverines.
