128 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING was timed at 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash at a Shrine Bowl Combine at West Johnston High in Four Oaks, N.C., in April. The third highly rated in-state run- ning back prospect in the 2015 class is Wake Forest High's Bryce Love. The 5-9, 175-pound speedster carries a 4.54 grade- point average in the classroom and is re- garded by Rivals.com as a four-star player, the No. 106 overall recruit in the 2015 class, the No. 5 all-purpose back in the country and the No. 4 prospect in the state. Love was one of the country's top sprint- ers as a youth, still owning the USA Track and Field records in the 100, 200 and 400 meters for 11- to 12-year-old boys and the 100- and 200-meter records for the 13-14 boys' division. On the gridiron, through nine games for undefeated Wake Forest this season, Love has rushed 99 times for 1,081 yards and 18 touchdowns while catching nine passes for 203 yards and three scores. He ran 181 times for 1,914 yards and 24 touchdowns last year, while helping Wake Forest reach the 4-AA state title game. On the recruiting front, Love has taken an official visit to Virginia Tech and unof- ficially been to games at East Carolina, NC State and Tennessee. He plans on using official visits to tour Florida, Stanford and Tennessee. He is also considering UNC and Wisconsin. Both Love and Frasier have been se- lected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star Game. Raleigh Millbrook running back Marcus Marshall has lined up a busy slate of offi- cial visits in the month of November, with NCSU being one of the expected destina- tions. He also reported that James Madison, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest will also get visits. The 5-9, 200-pound Marshall has taken in a pair of State games unofficially, in- cluding the Pack's contest with then-No. 1 Florida State Sept. 27. "It was great," he said. "The environ- ment, it was crazy. The atmosphere was crazy. Obviously State lost a tough one, but it was a good game." Rivals.com rates Marshall as a three-star recruit and the No. 38 player in the state. This season, he has rushed for 1,024 yards and 13 touchdowns in nine games, and added 144 yards and a score receiving. He camped at NC State over the summer and ran a personal-best 4.35 seconds in the 40- yard dash. His older brother Keith Marshall is a junior running back at Georgia. Two-star prospect Markeis Hallback from Moore Haven (Fla.) High is also a potential target.
