FOOTBALL RECRUITING Sept. 6 and at UCLA on Oct. 11. With those two visits behind him, look for him to make a decision by the end of November. W ill the commitment of Jerse y City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep four-star quarterback Brandon Wimbush to Notre Dame affect the chances with any class of 2016 quarterbacks that the Irish are in good shape for? Wimbush will not affect either of one of the two quarterbacks at the top of Notre Dame's 2016 board — Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Westlake five-star Malik Henry and Shreve- port (La.) Calvary Baptist Academy four-star Shea Patterson. If you col- lectively throw together all of the schools these two signal-callers are considering, like Notre Dame, Flor- ida State, Ohio State, Auburn, LSU, UCLA and USC, there will be com- petition and crowded depth charts at all of these schools. Would Notre Dame have an edge with either of them if the Irish chose not to take a 2015 quarterback? Yes. However, Wimbush won't play a ma- jor factor in either recruits' decisions, and both have gone on record as say- ing such. Per 247Sports, Wimbush is the No. 81 overall recruit in the land, the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in Notre Dame target Equanimeous St. Brown of Anaheim (Calif.) Servite is ranked as the No. 53 wide receiver in the country and the No. 55 prospect in California by 247Sports. PHOTO COURTESY 247SPORTS
