Patterson is the No. 66 overall ju- nior in the nation, the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 5 recruit in Louisiana in his class. What will the Notre Dame staff do if Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy four-star offensive tackle Jerry Tillery backs off of his pledge to the Irish and heads elsewhere? Also, which school do you see as the biggest threat to flip him? Sources close to Notre Dame and the 6-5, 315-pounder believe that Til- lery will end up signing with the Irish. Notre Dame has shutdown most of its recruiting efforts along the offen- sive line due to the confidence that it will end up with the U.S. Army All- American. Tillery is an early enrollee and will be on campus at the school of his choice in January 2015. If he decides to head elsewhere, that will allow the Irish coaching staff nearly a month to pursue an offensive tackle to replace him in this class. The only major threat to Notre Dame is LSU, but the Irish will get the final crack at Tillery when he takes an official visit to South Bend for the annual football awards cer- emony Dec. 12.
