FOOTBALL RECRUITING The Current Group Keys for Michigan in finishing its 2015 recruiting class are not only the ability to add highly ranked prospects to the class, but holding on to those who re- main committed to the Maize and Blue. Fortunately, the six remaining pledges seem firm to the Wolverines. Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice quarterback Alex Malzone Malzone is a 6-2, 205-pounder who is ranked as a four-star prospect, the No. 4 player in Michigan and the No. 10 pro-style quarterback nationally. He has been steadfast in his commitment to Michigan throughout the coaching tur- moil. He is slated to enroll early for the winter semester in January. Saginaw (Mich.) Heritage receiver/athlete Brian Cole Cole is a 6-2, 190-pounder who is ranked as the No. 2 player in Michigan, the No. 4 athlete nationally and the No. 91 overall prospect in the class of 2015. While he has taken official visits to other schools, Cole expects to remain committed to Michigan and will join Malzone in Ann Arbor shortly after the New Year. Lawrenceville (N.J.) Prep offensive lineman Grant Newsome Newsome is a 6-7, 280-pounder who is ranked as the No. 5 player in New Jersey, No. 23 offensive tackle na- tionally and the No. 215 overall prospect in the land. The Virginia native (he attends a boarding school in the Garden State) has consistently dismissed any notion that he'd reconsider his Michigan commitment. Philadelphia St. Joseph's Prep offensive lineman Jon Daniel Runyan Runyan is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 13 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 43 offensive guard nationally. Michigan is the only offer for the 6-4, 275-pounder, and the son of former U-M All-American tackle Jon Runyan has no intention of considering other schools. Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne safety Tyree Kinnel Kinnel is a 5-11, 197-pounder who is ranked as the No. 9 player in Ohio, No. 15 safety nationally and the No. 211 overall prospect in the country. While he has considered taking unofficial visits to other schools, Kinnel has yet to actually embark on any of those trips, and will wait to see who Michigan hires before making a final determination on his commitment. Massillon (Ohio) Washington kicker Andrew David David is a 5-8, 170-pounder who is rated as a two-star recruit and unranked at both his position and within the state. The lifelong U-M fan does not plan to consider other schools prior to National Signing Day. BRIAN COLE
