Junior center Andrew Copp and sophomore defenseman Michael Downing were also awarded second- team All-Big Ten distinction. Larkin was voted Big Ten Fresh- man of the Year, becoming the 14th Wolverine in school history to be rec- ognized as the conference's top rookie and the third in the past four years, joining sophomore center J.T. Com- pher (2014) and former U-M forward Alex Guptill (2012). The 6-1, 192-pound Larkin ranked second in the Big Ten overall and was first among rookies with 32 points in 20 conference games. He also ranked fifth in the league with a plus/minus of plus-12. "His skating, his quickness off the mark is as good as anybody's — one step and he's moving," U-M head coach Red Berenson said.
