MICHIGAN BASKETBALL • The Wolverines knocked off Ohio State 64-57 at Crisler Center Feb. 22, cut- ting the Buckeyes' all-time advantage in the series to 100-77. Michigan leads 47-37 in games played in Ann Arbor. • U-M honored the 1964-65 and 1984-85 men's basketball Big Ten champion- ship squads during the game. Those teams were celebrating their 50th and 30th anniversaries, respectively. • The win over No. 24 Ohio State marked Michigan's first victory over a ranked team this season. The Wolverines last beat a ranked squad last spring, knocking off No. 24 Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament. • The Buckeyes scored their second-lowest point total all season in the loss. They came up 21 points shy of their average of 78 on offense. • Sophomore forward Zak Irvin recorded a then-career-high four assists in Michigan's win over Ohio State. He also connected on a trio of three-pointers, extending his streak of at least one three in every game this season. • Freshman guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman also notched a career-high four assists against OSU. • U-M sophomore Andrew Dakich hit a three-pointer, recording his first points of the season. He also tied his career high for scoring in a game with those three points. • Michigan's 82-78 double-overtime loss to Northwestern March 4 left the Wolverines with an all-time series lead of 109-57 over the Wildcats, including 45-35 in Evanston. • The Wolverines tied a school record with their fifth overtime game of the season, matching the OT tallies in 1979-80 and 1980-81. The loss tumbled U-M to 1-4 in those extra-session contests this season. Michigan hadn't gone to multiple extra sessions since beating Notre Dame in the second round of the NIT in 2006, an 87-84 win in double overtime. • Irvin notched a career-high 28 points against Northwestern, shooting 9 of 10 from the free throw line. He made it a double-double with 11 rebounds. • Dawkins tossed in a then-career-high 21 points on the night, connecting on 4 of 7 three-pointers. • Junior guard Spike Albrecht notched eight assists in the game, pushing him to 106 on the season, a career high. He played 47 minutes, also a career high, and was among several to set career minutes marks, including Dawkins (49), Irvin (49) and Abdur-Rahkman (47). • U-M's 79-69 win over Rutgers in the home finale at Crisler Center boosted Michigan's record to 7-0 all time against the Scarlet Knights. The Wolverines are 2-0 in games played in Ann Arbor. • Senior forward Max Bielfeldt was honored prior to the game on Senior Day. He responded with his first career double-double, racking up 14 points and 11 rebounds.
