COMMITMENT PROFILE Camden (N.J.) High wide re- ceiver Brad Hawkins Jr., initially p l a n n e d t o m a k e h i s c o l l e g e commitment at the end of July, but he moved up his timeline to pull the trigger early. The Rivals250 stand- out picked U-M over South Caro- lina, Rutgers and Temple, among many others. "When I went out to Michigan, I just loved everything about it," he said. "From the facilities to the coaching staff, the players — ev- erything about it was like a family far away. I have a good relationship with [freshman receiver] Brian Cole, so that helped me out a lot." Hawkins announced his decision via Twitter, a popular way of doing so these days, but his message made him a Wolverine fan-favorite well before he enrolls at the University of Michigan. "Before I say anything, I wanted to thank my mom for giving birth to me and raising a strong young Brad Hawkins Jr. Couldn't Wait To Be A Wolverine Hawkins and prep teammate Ron Johnson are a pair of New Jersey natives committed to the Wolverines, and they hope to bring in some more talented players from the area.
