FOOTBALL RECRUITING In past years, the event has netted commitments such as defensive end Chris Wormley in the 2012 class, and even five-star duo George Campbell and Damien Harris in 2015 (though both later decommitted when the re- sults on the field ended their love affair with the Maize and Blue). The format has changed over the years — with last summer's edition including a scavenger hunt all over campus for the prospects in attendance — but the positive feedback has been a constant. With yet another coaching change this offseason, the fate of the Barbecue was unknown, but Jim Harbaugh and his assistants will hold it on Aug. 2. Many top targets, including the en- tire New Jersey/Philadelphia crew (see above note) and the majority of the "Pipeline Nine" prospects — the nine offered in-state players in the 2017 class — will make the trip (in- cluding four-stars defensive end Co- rey Malone-Hatcher of St. Joseph High School, offensive lineman JaRaymond Hall from Oak Park, and linebacker Joshua Ross from Orchard Lake St. Mary's), as well as the Wolverines' cur- rent pledges from across the Midwest and the country. The visitors list should be robust, and it's possible that commitment fire- works light the skies over Ann Arbor by the time it comes to a close. ❏ On The Web For regular reports on Michigan football re- cruiting plus videos of U-M commitments and targets visit TheWolverine.com. 1-800-421-7751 • www.TheWolverineOnDemand.com Wolverine Games & Puzzles Great for family fun night & tailgating! #1106 Shake 'N Score #1105 Checkers #1107 Panoramic Puzzle Your Choice: $19.95 + $8 S&H
