  COMMITMENT PROFILE Onwenu burst onto the scene as a starter on the offensive line in his sophomore year and reprised that role as a junior in the fall, earning all- state honorable mention in Division-1, Michigan's largest high school clas- sification. In each season, he helped Weber rush for over 1,900 yards while leading the Technicians deep into the state playoffs — though they've fallen short of a state title in each campaign after back-to-back titles in 2011-12. His broad build and low center of gravity have led many to assume he's an eventual defensive tackle. He's contributed in spot duty at that posi- tion for Cass Tech — and was even recruited by the former U-M staff as a defensive prospect. However, his desire has long been to contribute on the offensive side of the ball, and he's shown as a rising-senior that he has the ability. The Michigan staff under Jim Har- baugh differs from the previous group of coaches in that they see Onwenu lining up on offense, and there's an- other key difference that extends be- yond the big man. Whereas Brady Hoke's regime told commitments that they may not see other schools, Har- baugh's crew doesn't have a problem with Onwenu continuing to test the waters. "It's still early, so I still want to tour around and see what exactly is right," he said of future visits. "Right now, I want to see some other schools I have interest in and what they want to of- fer."
