COMMITMENT PROFILE Although long considered to be a lean to Wisconsin, thanks to his home- town's presence just 40 minutes from the campus in Madison, Bredeson was prioritized by Michigan's coaching staff — both the previous group un- der Brady Hoke and the new regime in town led by Jim Harbaugh. The presence of former Stanford and San Francisco 49ers coach Harbaugh as the head man certainly helped reel him in. "I am definitely excited about that," he said. "He's such a big name and a great coach." The next question for Bredeson is how the U-M staff plans to use him. With Swenson (a true tackle), Onwenu (guard) and Hamilton (like Bredeson, a guard-tackle combo) in the class, he has the ability to contribute either on the interior of the offensive line or on the edge, where he's most comfortable playing. As the left tackle last year, he paved the way for a ground game that pow- ered the Arrowhead Warhawks to a 10-4 record and a state title game ap- pearance. Although the squad fell 31-6 to a powerful Kimberly High program in the Division 1 (largest in Wiscon- sin) championship game, Bredeson showed off his talent. He was named first-team all-state by the Wisconsin Football Coaches' Association and the Associated Press, while Maxpreps. com tabbed him a junior All-Ameri- can.
