was the 14th fastest by a prep runner this year through mid-July. Hill earned Michigan High School Athletic Association Scholar Athlete of the Year finalist status this year and was M-Live's Detroit Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 2014. The two-year captain in both track and cross country earned a preseason No. 31 national ranking in cross country from Dyestat. He's competed at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in track, finishing third in the mile with a time of 4:11.17 this summer. "Ben stands out in this year's class for a couple of different reasons," M i c h i g a n h e a d c o a c h K e v i n Sullivan said. "He is a very well- rounded student-athlete, and that is something we are always looking for at Michigan. On the athletics side of things, you are talking about a guy that ran a 4:08 mile this year off of very limited training, after coming off a cross country season where he was injured. "He's shown great potential. He was one of the top sophomore runners in the country a couple of years ago and has now gotten himself back to the point where he is definitely a national-caliber recruit. We couldn't be happier having an athlete like that at Michigan." Myles Amine, wrestling — Amine stands as the nation's No. 40 overall recruit and No. 5 160-pounder, according to InterMat. "We've got his older brother and his cousin in the program. Myles is another special guy. He's got a great feel for the sport. He's pretty athletic. He's still growing right now, so we don't know where he's going to end up. He's going to be another really good one for us. He's got a great motor, and he's going to have a great career." Javier Barrena, swimming — Barrena hails from afar, coming from Madrid, Spain, to matriculate at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. He swims effectively back in his home country, having earned titles in the 100-meter backstroke and 100-meter butterfly at the 2014 Spanish Junior National Championships. Barrena also showed well at the 2013 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships, placing seventh in the 100-yard butterfly (48.67) and 17th in the 200-yard butterfly (1:47.60).
