Graduating from the University of Virginia
is a life-changing event that opens many doors.
However, that statement doesn't even begin to
explain how much Daquan Romero's time at
the University has done for the former football
player and current graduate assistant for the
team.
The two-year starter and four-time letterwin-
ner at linebacker enrolled early at UVa after
his career ended at Phoebus High in Hampton,
Va., and admits the jump — academically and
athletically — was significant from the prep
level to college.
However, Virginia also provided Romero with
plenty of resources to keep him on track from the
beginning. He noted a big key was starting his
college career off with a 2.7 grade-point average.
He knew if he didn't get it done in the classroom,

Romero is a graduate assistant coach with the football team while pursuing his masters de-
gree in athletic administration.
