CAVALIER COUNTDOWN
TAILGATE IN LOS ANGELES
UVa alumni and friends traveled to
Los Angeles, California to share their
passion for UVa and to cheer on the
Cavaliers in the September 5 football
game versus UCLA. As part of the
Western Wahoo Weekend, the Vir-
ginia Athletics Foundation co-hosted
a pregame Cavalier Tailgate with the
Office of Engagement and Alumni
Association. More than 1,000 'Hoos
reconnected with fellow alumni over
breakfast and a host of fun activities.
Door prizes were provided by VAF
that included UVa football and 2014-
2015 National Championship team
items.
In addition to the Tailgate, the
weekend was packed with other
events including a Wahoo Welcome
Reception, Dean's panel, individual
University department events, 'Hoos
in T V panel, Admissions panel, Bar
night, Brunch and private receptions.
The weekend attendees represented
27 states and graduation years span-
ning 1959-2015. Alumni also had
the opportunity to watch the UVa
Women's Soccer team as they de-
feated UCLA 2-1 on Friday and tied
Pepperdine 2-2 on Sunday. It was a
lively weekend and wonderful to see
so many UVa fans and alumni travel
to support the 'Hoos. Pictures from
