WOMEN'S TENNIS READY FOR RUN After going 20‑6 in the regular season, the No. 11‑ranked Michigan women's tennis team earned its 15th straight NCAA bid, were seeded No. 10, and were scheduled to host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament May 13‑14. The Wolverines hosted Ball State May 13 in the first round, with the winner facing either Kentucky or Xavier in the second round May 14. Head coach Ronni Bernstein ad‑ mits to some bumps in the road this season, but believes her girls are peaking at the right time. "I think we've had ups and downs," Bernstein said. "You see that in any season, though. We played a lot of tough matches, which I think helps us moving forward." The lone senior on the squad, Ronit Yurovsky, earned first‑team All‑Big Ten honors for the fourth time in her career, enters the postseason ranked No. 15 nationally and was named ITA Midwest Region Player of the Year. She is thrilled to have one more chance to play in Ann Arbor, where she is tied for third in all‑time singles victories with 112. "It's big being able to host," she said. "Playing in front of our fans is great. It sort of gives you a little bit of an edge when you're out there on your home court with your home fans behind you.
