INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS actly 20 hours, zero minutes, zero sec- onds … we would go 55 hours, if that were possible." Meanwhile, Rudock assured his final game as a Wolverine will be his most memorable. "I definitely would say the last game that we had, against Florida in the Cit- rus Bowl," Rudock said. "The biggest reason behind that is, we were able to send all of our seniors out as winners. "It was unfortunate — in five years, I've only been a part of one win in the last game during bowl season. The feelings you get after that — it's mi- raculous. As a senior, you always want to go out a winner. And un- fortunately, that's not always possible. "Coach Harbaugh always said, there are two things he wants. One, he wants to go to heaven. Second, he wants to win games. In that order, spe- cifically." The club gave out the 2016 Ooster- baan Award to softball coach Carol Hutchins, who is now the winningest coach in the history of the sport. Hutchins noted that when she came to Ann Arbor in 1982 to become an assistant coach for $3,000, her mother said: "When are you going to get a real job?" Hutchins noted: "I said to her: 'Don't worry. It will work out.' After we won the 2005 College World Series … I called her after we got off the field, and she said, 'You know, this has really worked out.'" The group presented the Yellow Jacket Award to Art Vuolo, for his decades of work in documenting Michigan his- tory through various media. Vuolo, in turn, presented a stirring video tribute to Ufer, in whose name the club has endowed a $250,000 football scholar- ship, as well as giving $100,000 to the Stephen M. Ross Academic Center. In addition, the club has awarded 143 scholarships to local students. Reflecting on Ufer himself, Bacon said: "Nobody prepared more than Bob Ufer Several seniors were recognized at the Bob Ufer Quarterback Club banquet: top row (from left to right) — Steve Racine (ice hockey), Dylan Bosch (men's swimming) and Jake Rudock (football); and bottom row (l to r) — Madison Ristovski (women's basketball), Cindy Ofili (women's track) and Sierra Romero (softball).
