INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS 5 Wolverines made NFL.com's listing of the top 100 players in college football for 2016. Redshirt sophomore defender Jabrill Peppers led the way and was listed as the Big Ten's top player at No. 12. Fifth-year senior wideout Jehu Ches- son (No. 38), senior cornerback Jourdan Lewis (No. 46), fifth-year defensive lineman Chris Wormley (No. 48) and senior tight end Jake Butt (No. 78) also made the cut. Only LSU and Alabama, who each boasted nine honorees, had more selections. 9 Straight Big Ten regular-season championships won by Carol Hutchins' soft- ball team; the squad has won 19 of the last 25 such crowns. 13 Was the women's golf team's seed at the NCAA Alabama Regional; it was also where they stood after day one of the three-day tournament. They finished sixth out of 18 teams to reach the NCAA finals for the second time in program history. 18 Quarterbacks were invited to the NFL Combine in February, but U-M grad- senior Jake Rudock was not one of them. However, when the draft rolled around, he was the 12th signal-caller to hear his name called, going 191st overall to the Lions. 20 Number of victories in the regular season for both the men's (20-7) and wom- en's tennis teams (20-6), marking the first time in U-M history both reached that milestone in the same year. 71.54 Scoring average for sophomore golfer Kyle Mueller through May 15, almost a half stroke below the Michigan single-season record of 72.00 recorded by Matt Thompson in 2009-10.
