"It was a fun time, but we also
came out trying to win, so it was good
overall. Of course X [Simpson] was
in the hotel talking about how they
were going to win the game," Watson
said with a grin. "That was all in fun,
though. He loves to talk, and he's the
most competitive point guard I know."
A 19.3-points-per-game scorer and
first-team Division I All-Ohio selec-
tion, Watson's starting to add some of
that confidence, as well. He seemed
to delight in the fact that he'd become
the villain to a lot of fans in his home-
town, the latest to defect from Ohio to
Michigan.
"You definitely [hear it]," he said.
"I'm used to it. In Columbus, they
don't even say 'Michigan' down here.
It's a constant thing, but it's all good
and it should be a lot of fun. I have a
lot of friends and a lot of family here,
and it should be a good battle."
One he and his new teammates from
Ohio can't wait to undertake. ❏
