COMMITMENT PROFILE "It's a big, big win for Michigan in terms of recruiting in the area," he said. "Solomon is a great fit for what Michigan is trying to do, and when you start landing guys like him and Rashan Gary in back-to-back classes, the defensive line starts to look pretty special." Even though it says Michigan next to Solomon's name right now, that's not going to stop other schools from coming after him. Fabrizio knows that Solomon is aware of that and is prepared to guide him through the treacherous recruiting trail that lies ahead during his senior season. "We always try to tell our kids that if they make a commitment to stick with it," Fabrizio explained. "You just never know anymore, though.. There are coaching changes, position coaches change, the main recruiter can leave — things just happen. Ob- viously, in this day and age, that hap- pens a lot. "That being said, Aubrey has been very diligent in this process, and he's visited a lot of place. This is the first time he felt comfortable enough to commit, and I think that speaks vol- umes." As good as Solomon already is, Fabrizio said The Atlanta Journal- Constitution Class AAAAAA (largest classification in the state)honorable mention All-State player last season be much better as a senior and mov- ing forward. "He had to get his knee scoped last summer, so he wasn't able to start playing until the season basically started," Fabrizio explained. "He really wasn't in the type of shape that he needed to be in. He's leaned up, and he looks great. Last year, he was a great player, but you'll see a much better player this year be- cause his conditioning is on another level. "Kids who weigh 300 pounds need to be out there running and condi- tioning, and he didn't really get to do that heading into last year. I think it's going to be night and day last year versus this year. You're going to see a much-improved player this fall from what you saw on film last year." — Brandon Brown FILM EVALUATION Strengths: Aubrey Solomon is very flexible and light on his feet for someone his size. He just moves dif- ferently than most kids who weigh nearly 300 pounds. Areas of Improvement: Both his coach and the regional analyst in his area mentioned his energy level and his effort. Solomon can get away with that in high school, but at the next level he'll need to play hard on every single snap. Michigan Player Comparison: Though he's much more touted coming out of high school, Solo- mon has a skill set and size that are similar to Willie Henry. Solomon is a little bigger already than Henry was when he arrived at Michigan, but in terms of raw strength, quickness, and athleticism the two are similar. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
