His victories included the 2015 Future Champions Golf (FCG) International Junior Championship, in which he shot rounds of 70, 65 and 71 for a win- ning total of 206. He won out in a field of 164 in that competition. Negishi also finished 14th out of 208 at the San Diego County Junior Gold Association IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships. He shot 295 over the course of four rounds. "Taisei has an incredible attitude and will be a perfect personality for our team," Michigan head coach Chris Whitten said. "He's been on outstand- ing high school teams and knows what it means to play for a team goal. He has a very natural, powerful swing that will last for a long time. I like that he has played some of his best golf in his biggest events and wants to carry that over in Ann Arbor." Jeremy Babinet; Redwood City, Calif.; swimming and diving — Babinet rose to No. 25 in the CollegeSwimming.com rankings this year. He's a breaststroke specialist who trains with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics and is no stranger to national competition. Babinet captured fifth place in the 200-meter breaststroke at the 2015 Speedo Junior National Champion- ships. At the 2015 Speedo Champions Series, he wound up third in the 100- yard breaststroke, fourth in the 200- yard breaststroke and eighth in the 400-yard individual medley. His best times (short course, yards) include a 50.61 in the 100 breaststroke, 1:46.95 in the 200 breaststroke and 3:54.61 in the 400 individual medley. Babinet should be able to come in and contribute early for the Wolverines in 2016-17. Nick Beaty; Wayzata, Minn.; tennis — Beaty reach a national high ranking of 27 as a junior from TennisRecruit- ing.net. He ranked No. 49 when he signed with the Wolverines and has won some high-level matches at the prep stage.
