Tony Bennett received Virginia Sports Informa-
tion Directors' University Division Men's Basketball
Coach of the Year honors for the third consecutive
season. UVA (29-8) reached the Elite Eight of the
NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995 and
reached the 29-win mark for the third year in a row.
Women's soccer coach Steve Swanson experienced
a season for the ages. Virginia captured the 2015 ACC
regular-season championship, which earned him
ACC Coach of the Year honors for the second time.
Swanson also served as an assistant coach on the U.S.
National Team, which captured its third World Cup.
Baseball coach Brian O'Connor finished the sea-
son with the third-highest winning percentage
among current Division I head coaches with a
career record of 596-223-2 (.727). O'Connor's team
(38-22) played in the NCAA Tournament for the
13th consecutive year.
