CAVALIER CORNER: Given the level of success you achieved at Brown, what was the deciding factor in your accepting this position at Virginia instead of staying at your alma mater? TIFFANY: "To be part of an institution like Virginia, with a unique combination of commitment to academics and athlet- ics, was too good for me to pass up. The commitment to developing and educating Virginia students is one that's held in the highest regard by the trustees and faculty. "That commitment is clearly evident in the graduates it puts forth into the real world plus the honor code. When I was able to take a real hard look at what the university was able to offer I couldn't find a draw back. It comes down to the commitment to excel- lence in academics and the support to win national championships." CAVALIER CORNER: With all due respect to Brown, given Virginia's successful track record in lacrosse, do you feel there will be more pressure on you to win? TIFFANY: "I accepted this position as the head coach of the Virginia lacrosse program with the utmost respect for the greatness that was achieved by past programs, by alumni and coaches of Virginia lacrosse. "I certainly understand the responsibility that I have to earn success at Virginia due to the foundation of all the great achievements and hard work that have been put in by men before me."
