"It's special," Reynolds said of his mile- stone homer. "I never thought I'd have one homer in the big leagues, let alone 250. It's a pretty cool accomplishment. "It'll be pretty neat to tell the grandkids one day. I've got another record, too — 223 strikeouts during the 2009 season is a major-league record — but I don't want to tell them about that one." Lopez, who was drafted by Arizona in 1998, has been able to avoid the disabled list for most of his time in the big leagues as a durable reliever. He had pitched in 838 games during his MLB career as of Sept. 25. He said his best highlight is the 2010 World Series. "It was the first one we brought to the Bay," he said. "I took some satisfaction knowing that I helped out and was a piece they traded for. "It was a whirlwind kind of year; I had my first kid that year. I could have never scripted how it went." The "soft-throwing" Lopez had an ERA of 4.10 in late September after a stellar mark of 1.60 in 77 games last year. A product of Robinson High in Fairfax, Va., Lopez realizes hard-throwing relievers is the trend these days for most teams. "I don't think you will see the kind of bullpen we have much more," he noted. Lopez is a free agent after this season. While he hopes to play several more years, he realizes there has to be a willing suitor. "I would like to continue to play. Being a free agent, it is not up to me," he said. "As I tell people, I will throw until you get tired of looking at it. "I want to keep playing, whether it is one, two, three or four more years." ◆ Virginia Cavalier TV Cover visit cavaliercorneronline.com CommerCial grade Vinyl • For Use in PaTio areas, sUn rooms, rVs, eTC.
