CAVALIER SPORTS GETTING TO KNOW SECOND-YEAR WIDE RECEIVER OLAMIDE ZACCHEAUS Olamide Zaccheaus was converted from running back to wide receiver as a true first-year in 2015. But in reality he did a little bit of everything. He ran 33 times for 262 yards and one touchdown, and also caught 21 passes for 216 yards and another score. And against Duke, Zaccheaus became the first Cavalier since Perry Jones in 2011 to throw for a touch- down and catch a touchdown pass in the same game. Zaccheaus also led UVA with 541 kick return yards, including a program- record 231 against Boise State, which tied for third most all time in ACC his- tory and were the second most in a Football Bowl Subdivision game. Through UVA's first four games this fall, he was led the team with 22 catches plus an average of 298 receiv- ing yards (74.5 per game). In addition, he was tied for second on the team with three touchdowns. He's on the watch list for the 2016 Paul Hornung Award, which is presented to the most versatile major college football player. My advice to student-athletes is: My advice to student-athletes is to manage your time well. Football is a commitment and so is school. You have to find a way to budget your time so that you get both done at a high level. The primary challenge facing student-athletes today is: Time management. The best thing about UVA is: The coaches. The atmosphere is changing. You can feel it in the locker room and on campus. You can feel it with the change in coaches. Why I chose UVA: It was a great opportunity for me to compete on and off the field. When my mom came up here she was sold on everything. She learned it was a high-academic school. It was pretty much like an extended high school for me. Zaccheaus led the Cavaliers with 22 receptions and 298 receiving yards through four games this season. PHOTO BY MATT RILEY/COURTESY UVA
