Dear Cavalier Fans, We have entered the fourth quarter of our fund- raising year and we are working hard to reach our Annual Fund goals of raising $18.3 million from 10,000 donors for the first time in our history. Last year was a record-breaking year for our Annual Fund as we surpassed $17.05 million. Our Annual Fund continues to track ahead of the same period last year but not at a pace to reach our goals. While the Annual Fund remains the focal point of the All In For Excellence initiative, there are additional areas that also require our staff's focus. Our Scholarship Endowment continues to be an important component of our fundraising efforts. We have added two new endowed partial scholar- ships this year with gifts of $100,000 and hope to add a few more soon at the $250,000 or $500,000 full in-state and out-of-state levels. Additionally, our Coaches 10 efforts have been well received by donors who desire to assist with sport-specific initiatives, making gifts of $10,000 or more for multiple years. We have a great deal of work to do and this will be a very busy time for our staff. Over the next month, we will host two of our favorite events of the year, the Milestone Dinner and the Celebration of Champions dinner. The Milestone Dinner will honor our 45 members who reached 40 consecutive years of giving at the end of 2015. The Celebrations of Champions Dinner will recognize our endowment donors, our Annual Fund Scholarship Society donors ($28,875 and above for in-state and $59,425 and above for out-of-state) and student-athlete recipients of the endowed scholarships. These individuals have made a significant impact on Virginia Athletics and we are grateful for their support. In the coming months, we will begin to work more aggressively on sev- eral facility fundraising projects and look forward to sharing these with our donor base. These projects will be important to the future success of our coaches and student-athletes.
