The VAF Members of the Game program recognizes individuals who support the mission of the Virginia Athletics Foundation. For each home game, a donor is selected and receives on- field or on-court recognition, including an appearance on Hoo Vision. The criteria used may include donors who have a history of loyal support through consecutive years of giving, first- time donors or donors who contribute to the Annual Fund, facilities, Friends Of, Coaches 10 or the endowment. We also recognize donors who are long-time season ticket holders. Members of the game for the Richmond football game were Matt and Natalie Nichols of Baltimore, Md., (both 1992 UVA grads). One of their favorite recent sports memories was attending a men's basketball team practice with their children. They had the opportunity to meet Coach Bennett and the team. Jake came away with a signed basketball of the entire team from the 2014 ACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions and it is the highlight of his autograph collection. When asked why their family supports the VAF and UVA student-athletes, Matt said, "It's because of our love for the University of Virginia and the enjoyment we get from watching so many of the individuals and teams have great success on and off the field. The University of Virginia was very meaningful to both my wife and I as undergraduates and we are excited to give back so that others can enjoy the same experience." John and Kathy Pegues of Warrenton, Va., were members of the game for the Central Michi- gan game. In 1974, the UVA wrestling team won its first ACC Championship. John recalls a highlight for him was to watch the entire '74 team being recognized in Scott Stadium as the recipient of the 1973-74 Seven Society Award for outstanding contributions to the University, which was the first athletics team to receive this award.
