Through 12 contests, the 6-1, 250-pounder had 96 tackles, including 30 for loss and eight sacks, eight interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), six blocked kicks, 14 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a 60-yard kickoff return for a score. Hodge was selected to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star Game. Cornerback Chris Ingram, Mooresville (N.C.) High Ingram will join Emezie and Hodge in the Shrine Bowl after he piled up 41 tack- les, including one for a loss, two intercep- tions, seven passes broken up, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for Moores- ville, which went 8-4 and lost in the first round of the 4-AA state playoffs. The 6-0, 180-pounder is listed as a three- star player and the No. 41 cornerback in the country by Rivals.com. He was also an effective punt returner this year, running 20 back for an average of 10.5 yards. Defensive end Xavier Lyas, Plant City (Fla.) Durant High Lyas, who is expected to enroll early, helped Durant go 8-3 and reach the Class 7A state playoffs, where it lost in the first round. During the regular season, the 6-5, 200-pound Lyas had 50 tackles, includ- ing five for loss and a safety, 10 quarterback hurries, a forced fumble and two fumble re- coveries. He is considered a three-star talent. Quarterback Matt McKay, Raleigh Wakefield High The 6-4, 185-pound, three-star prospect completed 119 of 222 passes for 1,553 yards and 15 touchdowns with 10 inter- ceptions in 11 games this year, leading Wakefield to a 6-5 record in the regular season. He missed the first round of the state 4-AA playoffs, a loss to Apex (N.C.) Middle Creek, with an injury. McKay also rushed 152 times for 767 yards and nine touchdowns. He will enroll early at NC State. Linebacker Isaiah Moore, Chesterfield (Va.) L.C. Bird High The three-star prospect was selected to the I-64 Bowl Dec. 17 in Virginia Beach, Va., a contest that pits the best prospect from the Richmond region (Team 804, Moore's squad) against those from the Tidewater (Team 757).
