MARCH 2017 THE WOLVERINE 49 2017 FOOTBALL RECRUITING ISSUE MEASURABLES • At Nike's The Opening regional camp in Columbus, Ohio, in 2015, Hall recorded a 5.82-second 40-yard dash along with a 21.8-inch vertical jump and a 33.0-foot power throw. STATISTICS • Helped Oak Park to a 7-4 record as a senior, leading a front line that produced over 300 yards on the ground in the team's second-round loss in the Division II state playoffs. • Helped his team win 26 games during his four-year career. HONORS • Named first-team Detroit News Division 1-2 All-State as a senior and junior, and came in at No. 13 on the newspaper's 2017 Blue Chip List. • Listed No. 12 in the state on the Detroit Free Press Fab 50 as a senior. • Division 1-2 Associated Press All-State first-team selection as a junior and senior. • USA Today All-USA Michigan second-team selection as a senior. ALL-STAR GAMES AND CAMPS • Attended the Rivals Camp Series Cleveland in 2015. RECRUITMENT • Committed to Michigan Dec. 5, 2015. • Pledged to the Wolverines early in the process and never really wavered. • Picked up additional offers from Arizona, Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee, among others, but stayed true to U-M. • Michigan was the second offer for Hall after Miami (Ohio). • U-M offensive line coach and offensive coordinator Tim Drevno headed up Hall's recruitment. • Hall is already enrolled at Michigan. NOTABLE • Born July 20, 1999. • Attended Jim Harbaugh's first spring game at Michigan before he held an offer from the Wolverines. • Started playing football at six years old as a running back. 2017 PROJECTION Hall's position at Michigan is still fluid, but as an early en- rollee he'll start figuring out his role a little earlier than the traditional incoming freshman. He's developed well over the course of his prep career, so if that trajectory continues he'll be able to contribute down the line. A redshirt year is expected for him, which is not uncommon for incoming of- fensive linemen. THEY SAID IT Rivals.com Midwest Recruiting Analyst Josh Helm- holdt: "Hall has a tall, lean and athletic build that suggests a future at the offensive tackle position. Hall is still learning the fundamentals of the position, but the potential that earned offers beginning in his sophomore year is evident. "He shows excellent feet and does a good job when locked on, staying between the quarterback and the defender. Added weight on his frame will certainly benefit Hall's over- all game, and all that should come easily as he matures." Oak Park Running Backs Coach And Trainer Daryl Gra- ham: "I think most college coaches wanted to offer him early because of his athleticism and his great feet. He can get big- ger and will still be able to move. "I want him to get a little stronger and see how well he carries more weight. For me, I've got very high expectations of the guys, especially when they train with me during the offseason. Plus, we have great offensive line coaches that have taught him different techniques to be more efficient than most high school players." Oak Park Head Coach Greg Carter: "Ja'Raymond was a three-year varsity starter, the first two years at right tackle before moving to the left side his senior year. He is an out- standing competitor, on and off the field. He showed tre- mendous improvement each year because he possesses a work ethic that is unmatched. Ja'Raymond is a very explosive athletic lineman who can dominate as a pass protector or in the run game." JA'RAYMOND HALL OFFENSIVE TACKLE 6-5 • 272 OAK PARK H.S. DETROIT RANKINGS STARS NAT. POS.
