20 MAY 2017 BLUE & GOLD ILLUSTRATED BY MATT JONES N otre Dame's football program is still a work-in-progress, just like its historic stadium that plays host to games on Saturdays in the fall. The April 22 Blue-Gold Game — which ended with a 27-14 Gold victory over the Blue — was the final time fans will watch the Irish inside Notre Dame Stadium before the school's $400 million Campus Crossroads proj- ect is unveiled Sept. 2 against Temple. Due to the ongoing renovations, only half of the stadium was open for seating. The capacity of the game was capped at 25,000, and 20,147 showed up to see head coach Brian Kelly lead the Irish for his eighth spring exhibition. The new video board — measuring 96 feet by 54 feet, affixed to the wall of Notre Dame Stadium's south end zone — is nearing completion. The Irish used a new visiting team tun- nel for the spring game, and plastic benches are being installed through- out the stadium. The Irish also have a renovated locker room.
