Commitment Updates Games played Nov. 2-4 unless otherwise noted • One of Notre Dame's top targets on the offen- sive line in the class of 2018 is officially back on the market. Knoxville (Tenn.) Catholic five-star offensive tackle Cade Mays publicly backed off his pledge to Tennessee Nov. 7. Mays, the No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 14 overall player in the nation according to Rivals, is scheduled to visit Notre Dame on the weekend of Dec. 9. Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and Tennessee are also involved in this recruitment. Mays plans on making officials to Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee and Notre Dame. • Naples (Fla.) High four-star 2019 running back Cesare Mellusi named Notre Dame his leader com- ing out of an unofficial visit for the Georgia game Sept. 9, and that hasn't changed. Mellusi, the No. 15 running back and No. 174 overall player in the class of 2019, is communicating with Irish running backs coach Autry Denson every day and is working on setting up a second visit to South Bend for the spring or summer. The Florida talent took an unofficial visit to Miami for the Hurricanes game against Notre Dame, but told Blue & Gold Illustrated prior to the trip that he'd be rooting for the Irish. • Notre Dame will host 2019 St. Louis Francis How- ell North three-star wide receiver Maurice Massey on an unofficial visit when Navy comes to town Nov. 18. Massey, the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri, told Rivals Midwest recruiting analyst Josh Helm- holdt that he's been hearing from the Notre Dame coaching staff regularly and expects to land an offer once he arrives on campus. • The commitment of Joseph Wilkins Jr. gives Notre Dame its third 2018 pledge from Florida, pull- ing it into a tie with New Jersey for the most commits in a single state in the class. The Irish have signed at least one player from the state in all eight recruiting classes under Kelly, including three in 2017, four in 2010 and 2013, and seven in 2016. — Corey Bodden and David McKinney RECRUITING NOTES Follow @BGI_CoreyBodden and @BGI_DMcKinney on Twitter for daily recruiting updates available on BlueandGold.com!
