46 ■ THE WOLFPACKER ■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING Offensive Line Early target to watch: Three-star of- fensive guard Jamari Williams from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons High so impressed the Wolfpack coaches at NC State's summer camp in June that he picked up an offer. Williams was back on NC State's campus Feb. 24 for a junior day. The 6-3, 280 pound Williams told Ri- vals.com in February that NC State and Kentucky were his top two schools. He also has Power Five offers from Boston College, Indiana, Pittsburgh and Syracuse. Other notable targets: Three-star Carter Colquitt from Buford (Ga.) High, three-star Jeremy James from Cumming (Ga.) North Forsyth High and Erik Walker from Gibson- ville (N.C.) Eastern Guilford High. Defensive Line Early target to watch: There are many good defensive line targets in the state, and several of them have strong interest levels in NC State. Leading the way is four-star defensive end Savion Jackson from Clay- ton High. Rivals.com ranks Jackson (6-3, 245 pounds) at No. 120 in the nation's junior class, No. 12 among the country's strong- side defensive ends and No. 2 in the state of North Carolina. He had 56 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks for 13-1 Clayton last season. Jackson and his good friend and former teammate, Pack wide receiver signee Devin Carter, visited for most of NC State's home games last fall and were in attendance when NCSU opened spring practice Feb. 25. Jackson has set up spring and summer official visits to Virginia Tech (April 14) and South Carolina (June), the Pack's top early competition. Other notable targets: Four-star C.J. Clark from New London (N.C.) North Stanly High, four-star Traveon Freshwater from Elizabeth City (N.C.) Northeastern High, four-star Joshua Harris from Rox- boro (N.C.) Person High, three-star Zovon Lindsay from Fayetteville (N.C.) Trinity Christian, four-star Noah Potter from Men- tor (Ohio) High and three-star Christian Rorie from Raleigh Enloe High. Linebacker Early target to watch: NC State signed two prospects from Heritage High in Wake Forest, N.C., in the 2018 class. It hopes to add another in 2019 in three-star linebacker Drake Thomas. The hard-hitting 6-0, 225-pounder had 112 tackles, eight stops for loss, a sack, three interceptions and three forced fum- bles as a junior for 12-2 Heritage. Rivals.com lists Elizabeth City (N.C.) North- eastern High three-star safety J.R. Walker as the No. 15 player in North Carolina and the No. 36 athlete nationally. PHOTO COURTESY RIVALS.COM
