He spent a lot of his senior season playing corner, and will need time to learn the defense and acclimate to being a full-time safety. Christopher Dunn KICKER Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson High 5-8, 170 pounds Measurables: At NC State's summer camp in 2016, had a standing broad jump of 8-foot-5.5 inches. Stats: Converted 8 of 17 field goals, with a long of 57 yards, and was 68 of 71 extra points as a senior … During his junior campaign, made 8 of 11 field goals, with a long of 47 yards, and 55 of 57 extra points … Made 14 of 20 field goals, with a long of 47 yards, and made 52 of 56 extra points as a sophomore. A great-looking athlete with a bright future." — Kicking guru Chris Sailer Scouting report: Possesses a strong leg, and gets excellent height and distance on field goals and kickoffs … Is also a fairly good punter … Some of his senior year struggles were due to a new holder and long snapper. 2018 projection: Dunn is expected to be NC State's placekicker next fall. Devin Carter WIDE RECEIVER Clayton (N.C.) High • 6-4, 205 pounds Measurables: At the Nike Camp in Charlotte, checked in at 6-4, 204 pounds and was laser-timed at 4.78 seconds in the 40-yard dash … Also had a 4.38-second shuttle time, a 38.0-foot power ball throw and a 32.4-inch vertical leap for an overall Nike rating of 94.32 … At a Shrine Bowl combine, averaged 4.495 seconds in two hand-timed 40-yard dashes, registered a standing broad jump of 10-foot-0 and did 17 reps on the bench press at 185 pounds. Stats: During his senior season, notched 55 receptions for 1,073 yards and 17 touchdowns … Had 78 catches for 1,167 yards and 15 scores as a junior … As a sophomore, hauled in 27 receptions for 460 yards and seven touchdowns. That's really saying something when that re - ceiving corps also features guys like Rivals100 prospect Jordyn Adams and Rivals250 pros- pect Dyami Brown. The NC State commit's big frame and ability to consistently win jump balls made him a nightmare for defensive backs." — Rivals.com Scouting report: Excellent size and frame for a receiver, and has good athleticism to go with it … Shows good hands and an ability to win 50-50 balls … Has the ability to stretch defenses vertically and be a deep threat. 2018 projection: Carter may be the most underrated prospect in NC State's 2018 class. If there was a typical receiver depth chart situation, he would have a very good chance to play quickly for the Pack. That said, NCSU is returning every player of sub - stance from a very good receiving corps on last year's team.
